Could happen. The only group that could force an NFL owner to sell a team is the Owners and commissioner himself. Per the NFL bylaws section 3… If Goodell as the Commissioner proposes it for “wrongful conduct” to Sugar Bowl 22 23 Alabama vs K state Matchup Shirt, they would vote. A 3/4 vote of approval would go to the owners. If 3/4 of the owners said yes, then it would pass and he would need to give the team to an approved person or group or sell the team to a person/group the league would approve. The owners have a lot of pull across that entire group. And I doubt if the accusations are true that fellow owners would take kindly to being cheated illegally by another owner. If this was someone who had made a huge impact to the league with a long history such as the Rooney or such, maybe they have built enough goodwill that they could make a stand that they regret their decisions, pay back the losses and any other fines and be able to stay. I don’t know if Snyder has that built though. He’s not exactly been at the forefront of the good of the NFL of late. I would be surprised if he didn’t attempt to legally fight it though even if he has no leg to stand on or threaten revealing more damning stories etc…. In the end if true I’d say his days are numbered. This wasn’t a poor taste tweet, or bad statement while drinking at home or something. Heck this isn’t something he can blame on others really without saying he’s a completely incompetent owner with no idea how his franchise is being managed. Add in the awful stuff about the treatment of female staff, the defense of a racist slur for so long, and now this…. That’s a rough thing to survive from him. And unlike some other owners who are mostly supported (aforementioned Rooney, Hunt, Mara…) or have that weird “we kind of like him and his man/child bowlcut bit like Davis or “yall hate him but he’s our guy” like Jerry, or a mix of both like Kraft who the owners really respect themselves and will go to bat for. I don’t see many in Snyder a corner. He’s constantly pushed the player cap higher with huge (failed) bids in free agency which I am sure has upset some (the “hey, if Archuleta can get that, what about me” situation).
